Running for a cure... Jessica's PledgePage
Hi everyone!
I need your help. I have decided to run a marathon through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training. If you’ve never heard of it, TNT is the world’s largest endurance training program. It’s also one of the major fundraisers for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I have committed to raise $4500 for the LLS while training for the Honolulu Marathon -- all in FOUR MONTHS!! The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society uses money raised in the search for a cure for leukemia (one of the leading disease killers of children), lymphoma (the leading disease killer of men and women under 35), and other blood-related cancers (such as Hodgkin's disease and myeloma.) In addition to seeking a cure, funds also go toward improving the quality of life of patients and their families. I will be running in honor of numerous people. Several family members of mine have battled various forms of cancer and are my personal inspiration and motivation. There is also a young boy in my area that is currently fighting leukemia. Clayton is five years old and takes a chemotherapy pill every day, has a chemo IV once a month, steroid injections 5 times a month, and 4 spinal taps a year. Despite everything he has been through, Clayton maintains a bright and positive disposition. He is an inspiration to us all. So, how can you help?? I need moral support. Drop a line… sign my guestbook… remind me that I’m not insane for taking on such a huge task. I also need financial support. Every dollar you send brings me closer to my goal. It will also bring us all closer to a cure. Please give as generously as you can. Click on the Donate link to the left for more information. Thank you, Jess Rhodes |
